Fall 2026 Paddle Briefing: Spin Limits, Foam Cores and New Releases
USA Pickleball now tests spin in RPM and foam paddles are going mainstream. See the new fall releases and how to save on gear.
A lot just changed in paddle land. There is a new official way to measure spin, bigger brands are finally building foam paddles, and the latest launches all talk about surfaces that stay gritty for months. This is the short version of what matters before you spend money.
Spin now gets a number
USA Pickleball began testing spin in revolutions per minute on October 1, filming paddle and ball with high-speed cameras. Any paddle certified from here on must measure below 2,100 RPM. Paddles approved earlier keep the standard they passed, so a paddle you already own stays legal. What changes is the sales pitch: look for talk of lasting texture rather than record-breaking spin.
The new paddles, side by side
| Paddle | Headline feature | When and how much |
|---|---|---|
| JOOLA Power FX | First full-foam paddle from JOOLA, 16mm, Propulsion Core | Out since late September, around $180 |
| Enhance MPP Turbo | ArmorGrit surface | Early October, around $120 |
| Holbrook Fuze VantaGrit | New grit over a dual-density core | Mid October |
| RPM Jade | RPM’s first foam-core (MPP) paddle | Shipping from early October |
| Bread & Butter Loco 2 | Space Dust Grit surface | No date or price yet |
Why everyone is going foam
Foam absorbs vibration, which is easier on the arm, and it tends to give a larger zone of clean contact. Doubles players who live in the kitchen love that. Players who want a sharp, crisp pop should try a demo first, since foam can feel muted by comparison.
Paying less for new gear
Brand-new models seldom come with a discount, yet the makers often take codes on everything else in the store. The Bread & Butter code MTPICKLE is worth up to 15% off an order through this Bread & Butter link. Our paddle tier list ranks the proven options, and the coupon page lists every code we track.
